Alain is the director of Northwest Undergraduate Laboratories and senior lecturer in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University. Alain received his PhD from Paris 6 University (Pierre et Marie Curie).

Adam Tanaka
Program Manager and Teaching Fellow
Adam is a PhD candidate in urban planning at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and has been involved in the development of the Biopolis since its founding in 2015. Over the course of his doctoral studies, Adam has also worked for a variety of New York City agencies on affordable housing, public finance and land use-related matters.

Magda Maaoui
Teaching Fellow
Magda is a PhD candidate in urban planning at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. Her comparative research focuses on housing policy, the politics of metropolitan governance and the political economies of zoning.

Julie Le Bot
Resident Coordinator
Julie graduated from University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne in both Philosophy and Politics. She also obtained the bachelor “Frontières du Vivant” at the CRI (Center for Research and Interdisciplinarity Research). She participated as a student to The Biopolis in 2016.

Jessica Liu

Jessica recently completed her PhD in Biochemistry at Harvard University and currently serves as a preceptor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. She is passionate about education and the visual communication of science.

Michel Becuwe
Teaching Fellow
Michel completed his PhD in Cell Biology at the Jacques Monod Institute, Paris Diderot University, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard T.H.Chan School of Public Health. He is passionate about membrane dynamics and education.

Julien is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University and has been involved in The Biopolis for its first two years. He is interested in studying the diversity and complexity of life through the lenses of microbial evolution.
